(So much this. And I think it does involve transphobia, yes, because even though--as far as I understand--she is biologically female and IDs as a woman, the attitude people have about it is the same sort of "you're not a real woman/ a woman shouldn't look like a man" bullshit that they bring out against trans* people. I am seeing the same kind of fear and disgust that I see towards people who don't fit the cisgendered/cissexual binary.
