~140 words. For prompt #3 (Franz Ferdinand - Wine in the Afternoon) at [livejournal.com profile] barefootboys. No DH spoilers.

eye of the storm

Thunderheads swirl low around the castle, making Padfoot shiver inside Sirius and beg him to crawl under the nearest bed away from the rumbling flashing danger. Sirius resists the dog, and distracts himself by asking Remus to leave A Separate Peace and kiss Sirius on the floor.

The air is charged with lightning and lust. Remus lies on the shaking stone and lets Sirius and thunder roll through him. Beneath the boy lurks the wolf, and it is this core which Sirius lays bare with gentle hands. Under Sirius's fingers, the wolf is tamed and Remus is shuddering gasping beauty.

A howling gale comes down from the green sky to stalk the tower and whip the windows with rain. But Sirius and Remus cannot hear the wind over their whispers. The storm will never find a way inside.

You are getting shorter and shorter! I liked all the l-sounding words: swirlll, lightning, lust, lurks, lays, howllling, rollll!

Also yay unmentionable things. :)

The farther I am behind, the shorter the fic. >->; I have two prompts I'd like to finish before midnight; expect them to be about two words long. *cough*

I like alliteration and am happy it showed through. XD

I love that you had Remus read A Separate Peace - that just pulls so much more into so few words.

And I love what you've done with so few words. It's wonderful.

Ooh, I'm glad that books worked for someone else. When I read it, it sounded like a Moony sort of book, and then I couldn't think of him reading anything else when I was writing this.

It certainly seems like something that fanon Remus would read. And it really mirrors the Marauders well too.

" But Sirius and Remus cannot hear the wind over their whispers. "

I liked that line.
